Easy-Peasy Plum Pie

Baking this palatable plum pie will fill your kitchen with the irresistible aroma of sweet fruit and warm spices! It tastes as good as it smells and is super easy to make!

 

INGREDIENTS

• 4 cups sliced fresh plums

• ½ cup white sugar
• ¼ cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell (Can be bought from most supermarkets, or use your own favourite homemade pastry)

 

Topping:

• ½ cup white sugar

• ½ cup all-purpose flour
• ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 3 tablespoons cold butter

Method

 

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

 

2. Combine plums, sugar, flour, lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Pour into the pastry shell.

 

3. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Cut in butter until topping mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over plum mixture.

 

4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 50 to 60 minutes.
Serve with custard, cream, ice cream or indulge in the sweetness as it is!
